The property is situated near Bosco di Cardigliano in the municipality of Specchia. The town of Specchia (LE) was nominated in 2007 as one of the most beautiful

Medieval villages in Italy. This property has rural origins and consists of a U-shaped structure, entirely made of dry stones, and built around the first courtyard, enclosed by fortified walls, followed by other fortified courtyards. This property is already represented in the historical maps of the area.

The surrounding area comprises terraces with olive and almond trees, and is partly cultivated with tobacco, an agricultural activity which was abandoned a few decades ago. An ancient road communicates with the neighboring municipality of Acquarica del Capo. Several rural sites of historical importance are just nearby the property.

The property is spread over 4 hectares of land, 1,5 ha of which are well equipped. The pool area comprises a 20x6m infinity pool with handmade stone edges and water without chlorine, approved by ASL and the landscaping committee. In the corner, there is a shower with solar panels. The area is equipped with sun umbrellas and 20 beach chairs.

Separated from the pool by a low wall, there is a waterproof theater area of 90 sqm. The area consists of a large 6m sofa and of a table that incorporates the technology for the high resolution projection on the big screen. At the back of the theater is a rare cactus garden.

The entire structure is built around the internal courtyard and is oriented to the south. Inside the courtyard there are two large covered areas, one with large wrought iron sofas copied from a fifteenth-century model, and the other, in front of the kitchen for outdoor dining, is dominated by a barbecue and a table over 4m in length made of local stone. On the right side there is a pajara (a typical architectural construction of the area). The entire court is lid both by candlelight and with large wrought iron chandeliers, with a timer to be regulated according to necessities. In the part of the lawn, laid in rolls (California meadow) as for the area of the pool, there are two olive trees, one of which is about one thousand years old.

Two staircases in the building lead to the walkway on the roofs and terraces where you can enjoy a wonderful panorama.

The kitchen is a wide space dominated by a central island counter of 4 m. Made entirely of white Carrara marble, the kitchen has been equipped with the highest technology. Within the kitchen there is an old wood stove fully functional.

A large living room with a dining room is spread out over two levels and occupies the entire left wing of the house. On one side it communicates with the kitchen, on the other side with a library area at the entrance.

The structure is antique and has just been strengthened. The lounge and the dining room are dominated by two large fireplaces. The antique furniture is original, from the chest to the cupboard and the extension table, which can host up to 16 persons. At the same time inside the large cupboard in the living room there is a Bang & Olufsen stereo system and a big TV. The whole property is covered by Wi-Fi.

On right side from the main entrance there is a studio and a master bedroom with a large dressing room, also containing the control panel of the house, and a large bathroom. Such a division allows owners to live independently from the guests. The studio, as well as the bedroom, is dominated by two large fireplaces. Here is an antique desk, a large tailored sofa containing a comfortable bed for two people, and a library. The bedroom is decorated with a canopied bed and a large antique dresser. The bathroom is decorated with antique mirrors, located above a large marble counter.

The right wing, connected but independent from the central part of the building, hosts three large bedrooms with three large bathroom and a guest bathroom. Each room has its own private entrance with a personal outdoor relax area. All rooms are furnished with Salento antique furniture and fine curtains and bedcovers in linen, whereas the bathrooms are decorated with precious marble and local stone.

In similar old farms, the Pajara was used by local farmers as a resting place during the work hours. Here a constant temperature is maintained, suitable for wine storage. In order not to change the original structure of the Pajara, large sheets of pierced glass are used for the storage of the bottles.
